Teachers and Staff | Sophia Klin
Sophia Klin performs throughout the region with ensembles including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Binghamton Philharmonic, and Slee Sinfonietta.
Sophia is an active performer of contemporary music and has collaborated with living composers on solo, chamber, and orchestral works. She has been part of numerous world premieres as a performer in the University at Buffalo’s June in Buffalo festival, as an active member of the Eastman School of Music’s Musica Nova ensemble, and as a string fellow at the Next Festival of Emerging Artists. In 2023 and 2024 Sophia was a cast member in String Quartet Theatre, a show with Syracuse-based Breadcrumbs Productions presenting contemporary and traditional chamber works within immersive theatre.

Sophia has appeared as a soloist with Rochester’s Cordancia Chamber Orchestra and Irondequoit Community Orchestra and with several orchestras in her hometown of Binghamton, NY.
Sophia holds a bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, where she was a student of Juliana Athayde. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Eastman, studying under David Bowlin.
Outside of performing and teaching, Sophia enjoys trivia, trying new foods, and learning other instruments, particularly the tuba.
Sophia joined the ROCmusic faculty in 2023 and remains grateful to share the joy of making music!
