Ciara McGuire is a baroque and modern violinist based in Rochester, NY. She holds a BM from Oberlin College and Conservatory and an MM from the Eastman School of Music, where she performed concertos with ESM’s Baroque Collegium and Musica Nova ensembles. As an orchestral player, Ciara has been the guest concertmaster of the Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus since 2023, and recently joined the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra as section violinist. A dedicated chamber musician, Ciara is the founding violinist of the Vantage Trio, which has competed in several national competitions, including Plowman and Fischoff. Ciara is a passionate educator: she started her teaching career at the age of 14 as a volunteer with her local elementary school’s orchestra, has taught many private violin students, and continued her pedagogic work as the TA for Professors Yoojin Jang and Christel Thielmann at Eastman. Recently, Ciara was an inaugural teaching fellow at the AlpenKammerMusik festival in Austria. Ciara is so excited to continue her teaching journey at ROCmusic!
